Decided to get this on a whim.

Was looking at GameStop and they had a summer deal that included the PS Vita, 4GB Memory Card, and a Free game.

Picked Gravity Rush since all the other games didn’t interest me all that much.

These are the unboxing pics I took:

The weight of the product feels good. Not cheap feeling as compared with the PSP. The PS Vita is all plastic aside from the screen. The plastic feels okay. The screen itself is very nice. 5 inches of OLED. Colors look very vibrant. Clearly leaps and bounds compared with the old PSP.

Here is the PSP with the PS Vita side by side:

So as you can see, the PS Vita is clearly bigger in every which way.

The analog sticks is small on the PS Vita. They feel small for such a bigger machine. However, unlike the PSP where the analog stick on the left was a bit too close to the edge of the device, the analog sticks on the PS Vita is nicely placed and feels a heck of a lot better than the PSP analog stick.

Seems like SONY copied a few designs off of Apple.

The power button and the volume buttons look awfully familiar, doesn’t it?

The power connector is on the bottom of the device and next to it is the head phone jack. Even the placement of the power connector mimics the iPhone and the shape of it is quite similar.

I don’t like the fact that every new Playstation product I get I need new peripheral things like new memory cards, which are quite expensive at this point and which is why the GameStop deal looked pretty good with a 4GB memory card included with a purchase.

More to come later.
